In today’s fast-paced and hyperconnected world, the youth of India stand at the forefront of unprecedented opportunities—but also unprecedented pressures. Academic expectations, career uncertainty, societal comparisons, and the constant demand to “perform” have placed young minds under immense emotional strain. Compounding this is the explosive rise of social media, where validation is measured through likes, shares, and followers, creating a distorted sense of self-worth and fueling anxiety, loneliness, and identity confusion.
With increasing competition in education and employment, many young individuals struggle silently with fear of failure, family expectations, and peer comparisons. The overwhelming digital environment often amplifies these pressures, leading to fatigue, stress, and in severe cases, depressive tendencies or self-harm. As a result, India is witnessing a worrying rise in mental health concerns among adolescents and young adults.
With the theme, “Youth at Risk – Emotional Pressure, Competition & Social Media Stress,” aims to open an honest and informed dialogue on the real challenges faced by today’s youth. Experts, educators, psychologists, parents, and young participants will discuss the psychological impact of these pressures, identify early warning signs, and explore practical strategies to build resilience, mindfulness, and emotional strength. The session will also highlight the crucial role of family support, healthy communication, value-based education, and responsible digital usage in nurturing mentally strong and balanced young citizens.
